Team4Hope is a Canadian running and fundraising team with members from B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan. We raise $$$ for neuroblastoma research and the BC Children's Hospital Foundation. The Team 4 Hope was founded by my girlfriend, Lisa Hopkins in 2011 to mark the 10-year anniversary of her son's diagnosis with Stage 4 neuroblastoma.
On October 16, 2011 our little team of 9 women ran the San Francisco Nike Women's Marathon (my first marathon ever). Combining training with fundraising, we raised over $50,000, with 82% of these funds going directly to cutting-edge research being performed at the Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre in Vancouver, B.C.
This year our 2012 Team 4 Hope is aiming to surpass last year's fundraising total in order to continue giving HOPE to kids battling this aggressive and deadly childhood cancer. We are well on our way to hitting $100,000 and to commemorate our fundraising year on October 7, 2012 our team will run the Long Beach, CA Half Marathon.
